Scuba Regulator

A scuba regulator is used to supply air to a diver at exactly the right amount of pressure needed throughout the dive. To start with the regulator itself attaches to the tank and reduces the pressure of the air to a sufficient premiere along with a preset intermediate pressure. Next the pressure is lowered by the immediate part set up. While it seems complicated to the average person, those who dive on a regular basis it is second nature.
Scuba regulator care is an important issue as well as a tricky one. On the surface and too keep the scuba regulator under warranty most manufacturers require that the regulator be inspected once a year, while some will require inspections after 300 dive hours. For those who prefer deep diving the regulator should be inspected every 75 dives, to keep it under warranty. For immediate repairs and maintenance, scuba regulator tools are a must. The kit would include tools to do basic repair on a regulator, and carry Allen wrenches, O-ring probe needle, regulator quick-tester, and a cap and regulator spanner wrench and in-line second stage adjustment tool.

While it may be difficult too understand on a basic level, scuba regulator parts are important for a diver to understand to maintain proper usage. The first would be an intermediate pressure tester; the test is used to determine the secondary pressure, in addition there is a push button to depressurize and then repeat cycling. For maximum performance the gauge can be recalibrated at any dive shop.

To keep regulator parts easier to adjust and keep in place, silicone grease is used, as an example Dow III grease is used for regulator threads, while Dow 7 grease is used for moving parts and O-rings.

Before attempting to do any work on a scuba regulator is sure to follow the specific instructions and diagrams that are found in the scuba regulator manual. It is an important note to test the regulator after servicing and repair as at any given time a manufacturer may receive some defective parts which can cause a newly serviced regulator to fail on their first use. Because of this it may be best to have the regulator tested, repaired and cleaned by a professional, as they will have the correct tools and have a more advanced knowledge the company that the scuba regulator came from, and the parts that can be trusted.
