Scuba Masks

Scuba masks have been around for a long time and have allowed the underwater world to be viewed without injury to the eyes. Scuba diving masks are both the most basic and one of the most important pieces of equipment that can be purchased for diving and snorkeling. However, because it is also the least expensive, it is often overlooked as being a good fitting piece – since a new one can always be purchased. Purchasing a new mask, however, does not allow for a good fit that can be trusted. A mask that does not fit can complicate a dive when water is allowed to get inside of it.

Since everyone is unique, finding scuba masks that fit each face and taste in style will not exist, so it is important to take the time to get a fitted mask that can eliminating problems later. The Cressi scuba mask, or the Big Eyes Masks, is a unique mask with a patented design that angles the mask lenses increasing the field of vision by as much as 30 percent. In addition, these scuba masks can be fitted with lenses for a prescription diving mask – allowing those with sight problems to continue diving and swimming and enjoy the sights.

With lenses created specifically for each divers mask, being kept large to offer a full field of vision. Pressure and air circulation inside the mask helps to eliminate mask squeeze and avoid fogging the visor. These scuba masks can also be fitted with diver to diver or diver to surface communications. Adding an added element of safety, as being able to contact someone in an emergency is essential.
An unusual topic, but important for divers is spit in the mask. Oddly enough, spit keeps the air inside a mask from condensing, and prevents the chance of the mask fogging during a dive. The spit cleans off the dirt that accumulates on the inside of the mask, it may not be the best fix, but it works. Along with same lines the scuba mask with a nose purge allows the diver to exhale through the nose, draining the water through a one-way valve in the mask.
