Scuba Diving Types

Scuba diving types are as many as the interests of those who wish to dive, there is no limit to the possibilities or where they can take the imagination that is held under the water.

Types of scuba diving include, but are not limited to; the more dangerous breath holding dives has been for generations to retrieve pearls, sponges and other valuable items from the ocean floor.

Among scuba diving types is open water diving that includes diving in an ocean, sea or lake, diving in a river is not included since it is contained by its banks. And is also the most common, and type of dive that will be done as a certified diver, and consists mostly of underwater sight seeing, jumping in to see the mystery to be found under the water.

Night diving can be an amazing experience, as there are many sea animals that do not come out during the day. Night diving of course requires the use of light, the best part of night diving many will say is the dramatic colors that are seen by flashlight.

One of the more challenging scuba diving types is cave diving. Cave diving can be seen as an extreme sport and is not for those who are claustrophobic. A cave diver will need to follow a specific path through crevices into great open space, it is important to note that with cave diving a flashlight is mandatory, as once the cave is entered there is no light. Along the same lines of cave diving is wreck diving. These dives have become more popular in recent years, as treasures have been recovered from once forgotten ship wrecks.

Deep diving is one of the more risky types of diving, but is possible with the right training, since the dive requires going below 100 feet.

A newer type of scuba diving is called kayak diving. Kayak diving offers the chance to find new dive sites that some divers may never see. By going out in a kayak there is the opportunity to reach more places and even venture out during whale watching season see their wonder up close. While this type of diving may be exciting, it may be more dangerous if kayaking alone since having a buddy along is necessary when things go wrong.

While diving can be exciting, the types of scuba gear used are the most important and can be life saving.
